Fans are talking. Famous Dave is listening. This summer, fans competed in our Quest for the Best Famous Fan in America to see who would win the title and an end-of-summer barbeque feast hosted by Famous Dave himself! Below is a weekly synopsis of each challenge.

Winner of Challenge #1: Jay N

Challenge Summary: Write a Haiku about Famous Dave’s ‘Que for Two.

Winner of Challenge #2: Sean D.

Challenge Summary: Fill in the blanks: Famous Dave is to barbeque as ______ is to ______.

Sean D. answered the challenge after philosophical contemplation on the universe – all while grillin’! While Sean may have created the answer on his own, we suspect he cheated just a tad on the grillin’ part. (Can’t say we blame him!)

Other Exceptional Comparisons:

Josh H. rolled up his sleeves and “Tweeted” up a storm. It would be difficult to say which comparison was the best, but we can all agree that ninjas are pretty awesome...and so is Famous Dave.

James A. posted his response as a comment on last week’s challenge winner Jay N’s blog. His comparison: “Famous Dave’s is to BBQ as lemonade is to a hot summer’ day.” Now that hits the spot!

Winner of Challenge #3: Liz P.

Challenge Summary: If you could share a ‘Que for Two with anyone, who would it be? Why?

The winner of challenge #3 is a “Follower” of Famous Fan Sean D’s Barbequest Facebook group. Liz P’s answer provides an international invitation to enjoy great barbeque. Let’s show ‘em what they’re missing!

Cody B. thought about his answer for quite some time. Did he think about it too long, or was it just good planning?

Winner of Challenge #4: TIE between Jay N. and Chris U.

Challenge Summary: Create a jingle about the “Not’cho Ordinary Nachos”

First-week winner Jay N. returns with a power ballad dedicated to the love of nachos. But not just any nachos...no, these are Not’cho Ordinary Nachos! Take a journey to the center of your heart...or at least to the bottom of your plate of nachos.

This is how Chris U. rolls! The love theme continues strong, with Chris’s spoof of “I Love College” by Asher Roth.

Josh H. created lyrics to be sung to the tune of “Behemian Rhapsody” by Queen.

Cody B. created a poem with a musical backdrop.

Challenge Summary: If you could dedicate one love song to Famous Dave’s, what would it be, and why?

Josh H. creates a virtual play-list of love songs that could be dedicated to Famous Dave’s. Inspiration is drawn from superstars like The Beatles and Elvis, as well as The Platters.

Other Chart-topping Dedications:

Jay N. created an imaginitive episode in which he dedicates this “Unforgettable” love song.

Linda K. will always have love for Famous Dave’s.

Winner of Challenge #6: Josh H.

Challenge Summary: What makes Famous Dave’s all-American barbeque the perfect way to celebrate our country this 4th of July season?

Josh H. scores a back-to-back win, with his patriotic response to this challenge that ties in the American spirit with the All-American BBQ Feast.

Winner of Challenge #7: Cody B.

Challenge Summary: If Famous Dave were a superhero, who would he be?

Cody B. had to look no farther than the Famous Dave’s menu to decide who Famous Dave would be if he were a superhero. Perhaps he was also inspired by the 4th of July holiday?

Other superheroes and their sidekicks:

Two-time weekly challenge winner and Famous Fan Josh H. and his wife penned a creative tale of the superhero The Chopped Pork Crusader and his sidekick Brisket Boy. Did I hear someone say “Sequel?”

Jay N, also a two-time weekly challenge winner, once again brings together an all-star cast of performers for a cinematic portrayal of “Captain BBQ” as he rescues the world from “Silly,” his faux-barbecue foe.

Linda K. and her family discover “Super Wilbur” as a possible superhero identity for Famous Dave.

Winner of Challenge #8: Sean D.

Challenge Summary: Submit a photo of you with your family and/or friends enjoying your favorite meal at Famous Dave’s. Don’t be afraid to get creative.

Sean D. is a man who has been everywhere, and he has the pictures to prove it! While his family may not have been with him on the journey so far, he did make many friends and meet many folks along the way. Yes, Sean was finally reunited with his family, and he even met “Famous” Dave Anderson himself.

Jay N. knows how to gather the family and friends for BBQ the way it should be. Is the future so bright, or are they just trying to be incognito?

Liz P makes a return appearance as our international tie to our friendly neighbors to the North. How do you make a seemingly simple photo great? Have a great story behind it!

Winner of Challenge #9: TIE between Jay N. and Josh H.

Challenge Summary: Famous Dave Anderson, the founder of Famous Dave’s, is celebrating 15 Famous years of ribalicious BBQ by throwing a party complete with birthday specials (July 15-September 15). Buck-A-Bone ribs, beer specials, and on August 30th anyone with the name Dave, David or Davy eats for free! He wants you to bring your friends to the celebration. How will you get folks to come to the celebration?

Jay N. again employs his musical talents, assisted by a guitarist and the “eye-candy crew,” to invite friends and family to the 15th anniversary of Famous Dave’s.

Hear ye, hear ye! This is a birthday celebration fit for a king... or so it has been declared in Josh H’s royal invitation to the Famous Dave’s 15th Anniversary Celebration.
